BEECHMONT - Bobby Lawson Lyons, 82, of Beechmont, died Sunday, April 15, 2012 at 6:15PM at Owensboro Medical Health System. Mr. Lyons was born June 9, 1929 in Muhlenberg County. He was a retired I.R.S. Agent and a graduate of the University of Evansville. He was a member of Beechmont Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and treasurer. He was a sport enthusiast and enjoyed fishing, and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Conwell Lyons; brother Tommy Lyons; and sisters Ramona Jean Lyons and Jo Ann Lyons Watson.
Survivors include his nephews, Tim Lyons of Owensboro, Kelly Watson of Clay, and Todd Watson of Madisonville; niece Robin Telfian of Richmond, VA; and numerous great-nephews and great-nieces.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 1:00PM at Tucker Beechmont Funeral Home, with Rev. Jim Watt officiating, assisted by Rev. Bill Rodgers. Burial in Ebenezer Cemetery in Drakesboro. Visitation will be Wednesday after 5:00PM at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hughes-Kirk Alumni Tom L. Lyons Memorial Scholarship Fund or Wyatt's Chapel Cemetery Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.tuckerfuneralhomes.com.
