Bobby Lawson Lyons

I did the inspection and pest control on Bobby's house for 20 years. He was always a very nice man to deal with. I found him to be humorous and a good way to catch up on the local news. I will miss him.

I always looked forward to running into Bobby at the restaurant in Beechmont.
It just won't be the same without him.

Bobby was a family friend. He was very kind to our Dad, R.B (Pete) McElwain.
He was the only one to send a memoriam to his church when he passed away.
Bobby was very friendly always & took time to talk & visit with us. I believe him to be a very good man.
We will miss him. Our thoughts & prayers are with the family.

When I came to work at the IRS, Bobby and I quickly found a common interest in sports and fishing, which led to a friendship of nearly 50 years. I was fortunate to just happen to see Bob about three weeks ago in a doctor's offiec and we had a nice visit. I admired Bob for his love of his family and devotion to his Church. He would say every year that he would be dead in five years, and he finally got it right in 2007 after outliving many of his friends and family. I will miss seeing him at the annulal IRS employees and retirees get togethers, as he always had some humorous story to tell, often at his own expense.

Bobby's sister, Jo Ann, was our sister-in-law, but she was like a sister to us. She had a wonderful family, and Bobby was always there with a funny quip and a smile. He always made us laugh with his wonderful sense of humor. He will be greatly missed. We extend our deepest sympathy to Tim, Paula, Robin, Kelly, Todd and the whole family, and to all who knew and loved him.

Tim, we were so sorry to hear of the death of Bobby. We would usually see and talk with him on our visits to Beechmont. He will be missed by so many and we certainly will miss his humor and friendship. Our family will be thinking of you and your family at this difficult time.9

Just wanted to say that I met Bobby at varous functions at Beechmont after he retired. I grew up with JoAnn, Tommy and knew Tommy's wife as a girl from Drakesboro School. They were all fine people. Bobby was especially kind when my father passed away in 2010 and sent a memorial donation to his church.

So sorry for the loss of your uncle. Bobby was such a wonderful, Godly man. I remember when Mom would take me and Bruce to Beechmont Church and worship with Pappaw Johnson. Bobby was always there. He will be missed by all.

Bobby, How do I begin to speak of all the memories I have of you. I have known you since I was a small child and Mom, me and my brother lived in the house with your Granny Lyons. You, Tommy and Jo Ann would babysit me when Moma had to work. All three of you spoiled me rotten and I loved every minute of it. I grew up loving your family. Your sweet Moma, Tommy who was driver's Ed teacher and Jo Ann who would let me get into her makeup and I would go home with big red lips and Moma would throw a fit! But I thought I was so beautiful with that lipstick all over my face. Those were some of my favorite childhood memories. You always asked me "When I die are you going to come to my funeral". I always said, "Yes Bobby, but I'll probably die before you do, because you are too much of a stinker to die". Then you would say, "Well, I'm going to the restaurant to have my last meal". I so regret not being able to say goodbye, but you will always be in my heart and I'll have those memories of the way you always teased me and made me laugh and smile, everytime I saw you/ I pray you know how very much you were loved and how you brought joy to those whose lives you touched. Rest in peace my dear old friend. You will always be in my heart and memory and I look forward to someday meeting you again.
